CarbonCapture Inc and W L Gore & Associates have joined forces to create cutting-edge materials for removing carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.
Their collaboration has already yielded significant results, with advanced structured sorbents now deployed in CarbonCapture‘s direct air capture (DAC) systems.
These innovative sorbents are designed to efficiently capture and remove carbon dioxide from the air.
Unlike traditional materials, their unique structure allows for faster and more effective carbon capture while using less energy.

CarbonCapture’s DAC systems are specifically engineered to utilize these advanced materials, enabling increased carbon removal and operational efficiency.
“At CarbonCapture, we consider ourselves a materials science company as well as a DAC company,” said Saeb Besarati, Chief Technology Officer at CarbonCapture Inc.
“Innovation in materials science will dramatically reduce DAC costs, and the key to innovation is a robust open partnership strategy with corporations, universities, start-ups, and national labs. I’m confident that the structured sorbents produced as a result of our collaboration with Gore represent today’s state-of-the art for DAC,” Besarati said.
The partnership combines CarbonCapture’s expertise in DAC systems with Gore’s advanced materials science capabilities.
Together, they are developing sorbents that can withstand the demanding conditions of the carbon capture process and deliver long-term performance.
