Carbon Clean and Samsung E&A have formed a new partnership to accelerate the global rollout of modular carbon capture systems, combining Carbon Clean’s compact technology platform with Samsung E&A’s large-scale project delivery expertise.
The companies aim to provide prefabricated, rapidly deployable capture units that reduce cost, shorten installation timelines and minimize site disruption for industrial emitters.
The collaboration centers on integrating Carbon Clean’s CycloneCC modular carbon capture system with Samsung E&A’s engineering, procurement and construction capabilities.
Modular Buildout for Hard-to-Abate Sectors
Both companies see the partnership as a strategic step toward widening access to carbon capture across sectors where emissions are difficult to eliminate through electrification or fuel switching.
Prefabricated CycloneCC units, each capable of capturing up to 100,000 tons of CO2 per year, are designed to be installed as repeatable “trains,” enabling emitters to scale capacity based on operational needs.
Samsung E&A’s track record includes more than 1,500 completed global projects, spanning North America, the Middle East and Asia. Carbon Clean, headquartered in the UK with offices across North America and India, has been active in the carbon capture sector for over 15 years and maintains a portfolio of 50 technology references.

The company has previously partnered with Chevron, Cemex and holds an investment in Swedish e-fuels developer Liquid Wind.
The two firms have already collaborated on carbon capture initiatives involving Aramco and MODEC earlier in 2025, providing a foundation for expanding joint commercial activity.
Carbon Clean CEO Aniruddha Sharma stated that the partnership represents an important milestone in scaling industrial carbon capture, citing Samsung E&A’s EPC capabilities as critical to making carbon capture “as standard and repeatable as solar and wind deployment.”

By combining modular carbon capture technology with accelerated project delivery, the partnership aims to support industries seeking cost-effective pathways to reduce emissions while meeting tightening regulatory and corporate climate commitments.
Samsung E&A CEO Hong Namkoong said: “We are proud to partner with Carbon Clean to advance practical solutions for a sustainable future.
“By integrating their breakthrough modular technology with our EPC capabilities, we will accelerate the global rollout of carbon capture systems that are efficient, reliable and ready for the energy transition.”
