Direct air capture (DAC) company Capture6 has partnered with carbon removal registry Isometric to issue high-quality credits from its joint venture with Pilot Energy called Project Wallaby.
As part of this collaboration, Isometric will issue the carbon credits following its scientifically rigorous Direct Air Capture Protocol, tracking the project’s measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) through its Certify platform.
This partnership will enable Capture6 to bring Project Wallaby DAC credits to the voluntary carbon market, ensuring that each issued credit stands for one tonne of durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR).
Located in Western Australia, Project Wallaby is a pilot Capture6 DAC facility, deployed at Pilot Energy’s Mid West Clean Energy Project (MWCEP).
The project serves to demonstrate Capture6’s CDR approach that tackles atmospheric CO2 through a system that combines renewable energy with saltwater, such as brine wastewater.
This technology not only effectively removes carbon, but it also produces freshwater, suitable for drinking or industrial and agricultural applications.
Designed for seamless integration into existing infrastructures, the technology is compatible with desalination plants and water treatment facilities, where it powers the process of water recovery while actively removing CO2.
This year, Project Wallaby is slated to enter a demonstration phase at the MWCEP site, and in 2026 it will expand operations to monetize the sale of water, low-carbon chemicals, and high-purity CO2.

In 2028/2029 the initiative is projected to reach full-scale deployment, where it will aim to remove up to 80,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, and from 2030 onward, Project Wallaby is expected to be able to increase its DAC capacity to 350,000 tonnes of CDR per year.
The partnership with Isometric marks another positive milestone for Capture6 this year, as in March 2025 the company also locked in $27.5 million in Series A and project funding in a round led by Tetrad Corp.
Going forward, the collaboration with Isometric will ensure that Project Wallaby is making real decarbonization progress while offering buyers premium DAC carbon credits aligned with the highest CDR industry standards.
