Carbon removal innovator Blusky Carbon has laid out a solid strategy on how to tackle the pressing issues standing in its way of advancing and scaling this promising decarbonization technology.
In a recent press release, Blusky Carbon CEO William Hessert shared details on the company’s commercialization strategy going forward, highlighting the company’s and his own dedication to addressing climate change by leveraging the potential of carbon removal.
As a key focus, the Blusky commercialization strategy will explore the capacity of industrial-scale biomass pyrolysis to produce enough power to not only support its own biochar production operations but also to generate a surplus of power that can be added to the grid or used towards other power-intensive carbon removal technologies.
The company has organized its strategy into three categories called Arc, Nexus, and Forge.
Centered around developing its own carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects, as part of the Arc plan, BluSky will build, own, and manage its own removal initiatives, using them to test out innovations and refine technology according to results. Ultimately, the company hopes to deploy the solutions it develops to third parties, tapping into new market opportunities.
The Nexus plan will see Blusky form strategic partnerships with the expectation that partners will bring along different opportunities like funding, offtakes, or other advantages that will boost carbon removal efforts.
In these collaborations, Blusky will work to secure revenue shares, partial ownership, or develop new projects in joint ventures with other businesses.

When it comes to its carbon removal equipment, as part of the Forge plan, BluSky will aim to reach mass production levels, simultaneously working on upgrading its existing systems and launching new solutions.
Blusky is hopeful that the numerous projects developed under the Arc and Nexus plan will help economies of scale to drive down the costs of carbon removal technology that will allow its scaling to levels matching net-zero ambitions.
With this strategic blueprint in mind, the company is on a mission to gain exposure and attract new opportunities that would generate enough revenue to support Blusky’s long-term carbon removal vision.
