China-based biochar production technology provider Beston Group and biochar trailblazer Exomad Green have announced a new strategic partnership, marking the launch of Phase 2 of their existing collaboration.
In their initial cooperation phase, Beston Group provided Exomad with 7 of its production units called BST-50, which are used to generate biochar from sawmill waste.
In Phase 2 of the partnership, the announcement states that 8 new BST-50 units are now ready for shipment.
Going forward, the Exomad-Beston partnership aims to bring online a total of 15 industrial-grade biochar production systems. This production capacity will enable Exomad to advance toward its target of sequestering 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually by 2027.
As the collaboration enters Phase 2, the two partnering companies will combine their fortes to solidify leadership in the South American market.
Beston Group is an official technology provider for Puro.earth and is the first biochar equipment partner of Isometric.
With its BTS-50 units, which are pre-approved by Isometric, Beston Group has powered the colossal growth of Exomad’s biochar production operations and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) deliveries over the past few years.
Located in Bolivia, Exomad runs a network of biochar production sites, some of which are fully operational and others currently under development.
The company’s biochar-based CDR activity has resulted in a milestone issuance of 300,000 CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs) under the Puro.earth standard, positioning Exomad as a leader in biochar production and the largest global supplier of delivered durable CDR credits to date.

This outstanding reputation has attracted agreements with a number of corporate clients, including a 1.24-million-tonne CDR offtake deal with Microsoft that made headlines as the largest biochar deal to date.
Through its partnership with Bestong Group, Exomad is gearing up for further growth, simultaneously working on a project that’s expected to be the world’s largest biochar production site once it comes online in mid-2026.
In a statement, Beston Group shares that the company is grateful for the trust by Exomad Green, as it remains committed to driving technological innovation and providing global clients with quantifiable, traceable, and high-standard carbon removal solutions.
