BCG Eco Enters Intl Collaboration To Strengthen Vietnam’s Carbon Credit Market - Carbon Herald

Vietnam’s BCG Eco, the afforestation arm of Bamboo Capital Group, has entered a strategic partnership with Singapore-based firms Capital Quantum and Corects to expand its presence in the carbon credit market.

This collaboration will enhance BCG Eco’s carbon credit projects and connect Vietnam to international carbon markets, reinforcing Bamboo Capital’s commitment to sustainable development and the green economy.

Established earlier this year to address climate change, BCG Eco focuses on forestry, forest care, and carbon credit consultancy.

In pursuit of its mission to create high-quality carbon credits and promoting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, the company aims to support businesses in accessing carbon markets while advancing Vietnam’s climate goals.

The partnership with Capital Quantum and Corects seeks to build a comprehensive carbon credit ecosystem, including emission reduction projects and international carbon trading.

Capital Quantum will leverage its expertise in carbon credit platforms and collaboration with the Global Carbon Council, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s first voluntary carbon offset program, to ensure accurate measurement and compliance with international standards.

Meanwhile, Corects will contribute its consultancy expertise, certification support, and advanced data analytics to help BCG Eco implement globally recognized projects.

Under this agreement, BCG Eco will produce carbon credits for international markets like Singapore while exploring trading opportunities in Vietnam and Laos.

This initiative aligns with Vietnam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, as outlined in the National Strategy on Climate Change.

Forestry, identified as a key sector for carbon credit development, is expected to play a significant role in Vietnam’s transition from a “brown” to a “green” economy.

Experts predict the Vietnamese carbon credit market will grow by 20% in 2024, driven by international agreements like the Paris Agreement.
