Climate action leader Aspiration has just announced it has planted more than 101 million trees together with Eden Reforestation Projects.

As a result of the partnership with Eden, Aspiration has invested in reforestation projects that will help restore more than 83,000 hectares of forests in different parts of the world, including the Philippines, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, and Honduras.

Not only will this restore local habitats, but will also support some 1,400 of local community members, who’ve been employed by Eden, providing a stable and equitable source of income in areas with limited employment opportunities.

This milestone brings Aspiration a step closer to reaching its goal of planting a total of 1 billion trees by the end of the decade.

Reforestation efforts such as these are a critical component of climate change mitigation, as trees are a natural means of reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, thus helping limit rising global temperatures.
