AirMiners – the community that gathers startups and engineers dreaming about removing carbon from the air, is welcoming applications for its AirMiners Launchpad pre-accelerator, now open until 11:59pm US Pacific time September 30th, 2022.

The AirMiners Launchpad is a program for early stage ideas or companies that runs for 6 weeks. The program will take place from October 18th till November 22nd and it will require a commitment of roughly 6 hours per week. They include a 90 minute live workshop on Tuesdays 9 – 10:30 AM PT and about 5 to 7 hours a week of work.

It is designed for companies that want to remove carbon dioxide out of the air but may not have everything figured out just yet. It is even suitable for founders that are solo and look for collaborators, teammates, or even co-founders. The program runs in batches and a new Launchpad batch starts every 3 months. That means applications are always open on a rolling basis.

The platform is developed in partnership with XPRIZE and Creative Destruction Lab, and aims to prepare carbon removal teams to get into an accelerator program to take them to the next stage.

Creative Destruction Lab works with AirMiners to support companies after Launchpad, and the community also recommends YCombinator, Indiebio, and Carbon2Value as they leverage accelerator and incubator services.

In addition to providing pre-accelerator opportunities, AirMiners also supports people that don’t even have an idea yet who are free to apply to join the AirMiners Slack community to connect to the carbon removal network.

The world would need to remove gigatons of CO2 emissions from the atmosphere to be able to limit global warming to 1.5°C degrees. Millions of people are already working on developing solutions, however, more efforts and people are needed so that we decarbonize the economy on a global scale.
