AGRA Industries Partners With Carbon Clean To Advance CO2 Capture Technology In Biofuels - Carbon Herald

AGRA Industries has recently partnered with Carbon Clean to enhance CO2 capture technology in the production of biofuels.

Carbon Clean, a trailblazer in developing carbon capture solutions, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AGRA Industries, known for its expertise in creating comprehensive facilities.

AGRA Industries, an established global leader in its field, provides extensive services for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects across a range of industries, including corn and soybean seed processing, animal feed production, biomass pellet manufacturing, and bio-based fuel development.

This partnership aims to promote the use of Carbon Clean’s semi-modular CaptureX technology in the agriculture industry, specifically in the production of biofuel ethanol and sustainable aviation fuels, ultimately creating a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future for the sector.

With the CaptureX technology, businesses in the agriculture industry can now implement cutting-edge carbon capture solutions to minimize their environmental impact. Up to this point, the method has been effectively integrated in 49 global sites.

The technology’s primary benefit lies in its prefabricated nature, with 80% of the system being modularized and containerized. This significantly diminishes the need for on-site work and cuts down on installation time compared to traditional open-plant construction methods.

The collaboration will enable businesses to capture CO2 emissions during the biofuel fermentation process, allowing for the creation of fuels with reduced carbon footprints. This will improve biofuel manufacturers’ eligibility for incentives like the 45Z clean fuel production and 45Q tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.

The partnership between Carbon Clean and AGRA Industries is advantageous for biofuel producers, according to Aniruddha Sharma, who serves as the chair and CEO of Carbon Clean.

He stated, “Customers will benefit from the expertise of a leading agricultural engineering specialist and our modularized, innovative carbon capture technology that is cost-effective and simple to install. Biofuels are already renewable and by installing efficient carbon capture technology, producers can cut their carbon intensity still further and become full participants in the circular economy.”
