Aether Fuels and FlyORO Technologies have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply-chain and blending solutions linked to Aether’s Project Beacon in Singapore.

The collaboration will focus on downstream logistics, blending infrastructure and fuel delivery systems for future SAF projects.

Project Beacon is being developed as what Aether describes as the first next-generation commercial-scale SAF facility in Southeast Asia. Hence, the agreement aims to support Singapore’s growing role as a regional hub for sustainable aviation and clean energy technologies.

Project Beacon Targets Waste-Based SAF Production

The planned facility will be located at Aster Pulau Bukom refinery in Singapore and is expected to convert industrial waste gas and biomethane into CORSIA-certified SAF.

According to Aether, the project could produce up to 2,000 tons of fuel annually while reducing lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by more than 70% compared to conventional jet fuel. Construction is expected to begin in 2026, with commercial operations targeted for 2028.

The project is based on Aether’s Aurora technology platform, which is designed to use a broader range of waste-carbon feedstocks than conventional SAF production pathways.

Meanwhile, FlyORO will assess how its modular AlphaLite blending platform could support fuel blending and downstream delivery. The system was first launched in Singapore and later deployed at Australia’s Wellcamp Airport.

According to the companies, the collaboration will evaluate how flexible blending infrastructure can help accelerate SAF deployment and commercial adoption.

“Singapore is one of the few markets where advanced fuel production, airport demand, logistics capability and policy momentum can come together at meaningful speed,” said Jonathan Yeo, Chief Executive Officer of FlyORO Technologies.

Aether CEO Conor Madigan said the partnership could help support commercialization of next-generation SAF production technologies.

The agreement is non-binding and remains subject to further technical, commercial and regulatory discussions. The development reflects growing investment in SAF infrastructure and alternative aviation fuel pathways as the industry seeks to reduce emissions.
