ClimeFi has launched the Beyond 2030 request for proposals (RFP), looking for durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR) on behalf of multiple corporate buyers.
The call is specifically interested in suppliers that can deliver high-quality CDR beyond 2030. Through this RFP, buyers are expected to make commitments for 100,000-500,000 tonnes of total durable carbon removals.
As highlighted in the announcement, all CO2 removal pathways will be considered, as long as they can deliver permanence of 200 years or greater.
Launched on March 18, the RFP is accepting questions from suppliers by Mar 27, 2026. On April 1st, ClimeFi will respond to the received questions, and the call will be open to proposal submissions until Apr 8, 2026.
Once the call has closed, ClimeFi and its partners will then take time to review the proposals, notifying the shortlisted durable CDR suppliers in June 2026.
ClimeFi has a strong record of successful procurement rounds that often exceed the volumes expected to be contracted.
In that regard, its Q4 of 2023 request for CDR proposals was targeting 10,000–15,000 t of firm offtakes and wrapped up with 26,000 t of contracted firm offtakes, while its Q2 2024 round ended with 50,000 t of firm offtakes instead of the initially announced 40,000 t.
ClimeFi’s latest request for proposals that ran in Q4 of 2025 was projected to catalyze 500–4,000 t per project and resulted in 7,000 t–10,000 t of firm offtakes, which are to be announced in Q2 of 2026.

Through these and more RFPs, as well as its broader purchases, ClimeFi has facilitated over 500,000 tonnes of contracted durable carbon removal through 2035.
Targeting between 100,000 and 500,000 tonnes in commitments, the Beyond 2030 RFP represents ClimeFi’s most ambitious CDR procurement to date.
