Dutch early-stage venture capital firm 4impact has raised €68 million ($73 million) in a second fund (Fund II) intended to support digital startups that accelerate the sustainability transition.
After successfully closing its first fund back in 2019, 4impact organized the second fund that will serve to stimulate the work of digital and sustainability ventures in northwestern Europe focused on providing scalable solutions to global challenges and delivering solid financial returns.
After its first closing in 2023, Fund II has supported six trailblazing companies, including high-quality, durable carbon removal credits provider Carbonfuture, Coolgradient and their solution for optimizing water and energy demand in data centers, and cleantech company Deftpower, focused on leveraging EV batteries to address power grid fluctuations.
Besides the support provided by its founders, Fund II has also received backing from industry leaders and visionary and institutional investors who recognize its importance, including Invest-NL, the European Investment Fund and Oost NL, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
With a team that combines accumulated knowledge and experience from Goldman Sachs, the Future Fit Foundation, Mubadala, Redkiwi, Hayfin, and Citi, Fund II also leverages its expert network of seven venture partners across Europe and the US to drive change in the sustainability sphere.
